CaptainCougar (4599), Rockville, Maryland, USA May 11, 2008 Pours a slightly hazy copper bronze with a spotty-lacing off-white head. Aroma of lightly sweet caramel malt and a semi-sour, funky nose. Starts lightly sweet and fairly full bodied with a citrusy tartness and some warming acidity toward the finish. Fairly interesting and hides the alcohol pretty well, but could use some more balance.
hopscotch (4379), Vero Beach, Florida, USA Jun 28, 2008 Draft... Murky golden ale with a small, creamy, white head. The aroma is fruity, acidic and sweet. Full-bodied with a velvety mouthfeel and soft carbonation. Great balance... Sweet, tart and lightly bitter. A bit hot. Fruity, bitter finish. Kinz (1871), Glen Allen, Virginia, USA Jun 8, 2008 Pours a dark gold, light amber, with a nice head. Clear until very last bit of the pour roused some yeast. Aroma honey and caramel sweet malts, with an apricot fruitiness and yeast note. Flavor matched, but also had an interesting "twang" to it that I took to be the spice note from the mustard. Beat the heck out of another Belgian mustard beer I tried once. This was enjoyable, but I still think I may have preferred the base beer over the mustard version. tjthresh (1248), LaPorte, Indiana and Belton, Missouri, USA Jun 7, 2008 From bottle shared by cdog69. Pours golden with a slight bit of haze. Thick white head. Some nice lace. Nose is sort of candy-ish. Very slight mustard spice nose. The flavor is rather sweet. More mustard flavor. Full body. Average carbonation. Sweet finish with a lingering spice. Not bad. Certainly odd. omhper (10140), Stockholm, Sweden May 29, 2008 Bottled at the Struise farm. Hazy pale golden, airy head. Almondy and caramelly. Surprisingly slim for a beer this size with notes of grass and pear. Fruity with notes of canteloupe. Late resiny bitterness. An extremely drinkable 11% beer! beerbuzzmontreal (2673), Montreal, Quebec, Canada May 26, 2008 Murky brown pour with lots of floaties and a very thick, rocky, offwhite head. Very good aroma of yeast, spices and hops. Very good flavor of spices, yeast and hops. The body is light with an oily texture and gentle carbonation. This beer is well balanced and quite pleasant to drink.
