Jeg er faktisk lidt skuffet, det er noget fesent og fladt. Lakridskonfekt, chokolade, støv og sprut. mere er der ikke at sige om det. lithy (1800), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 30, 2008 Opens with slight gushing, but no problem in the pour. Dark belgian strong ale brown with lots of floaties and a dissipating light tan head is gone almost immediately. The nose is heavy with the candi sugar. The taste is plummy and more candi sugar the roastiness is there but understated along with chocolate and coffee notes that should be at the front of a stout. This beer is fantastic but I can’t help but think it is a Belgian Strong Ale that would be better compared to Rochefort 8/10 than it is an Imperial Stout. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 25, 2008 (Belgium) Poured this stout a little too fast and the head exploded right out of the glass!!! lol. The color is a dark hazy brown with foamy tan head. The aroma of malts, spices, and chocolate. Taste is smooth and robust with caramel, molasses, and some coffee notes. The mouthfeel is of warm alcohol that finishes on a sour note. Also, There was some nice lacing in the glass. Ethereal (1500), London, Greater London, England
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 25, 2008 Cask at The White Horse Belgain Beer Festival, 24th August 2008. Black with zero head. Very still. The aroma is spicy but still can’t hide the alcohol. Slick, silky, almost oily mouthfeel with a rich caramel, candy sugar, molasses and dark fruit flavour. Lots of warming alcohol of course. Ultimately, it’s rather strong and I’d rather be drinking it on a cold mid-winter night than in August! DaSilky1 (2017), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 22, 2008 wholy fucking lace, batman. dark brown beer, fairly thick tan head with orgasmic lace ejaculating on all sides of the glass. Nose was seriosuly disabled...roasty overtones walk the lager yeast phenols across the street of gayness...why am i getting lager yeast phenols from a Belgian imperial stout? Flip stance...super tangy yeast mouth, lactic? I dont know..tangy as fuck...lemon juice droppings maybe. Seriously, its hard to discern any flavors over the sour...but, fuck man, i like sour...but..somethings not right. There’s a hint of chocolate before my heart feels like its on fire. Carbination is outrageous and as i look at the bottle its still volcanically spewing a phallic sud rocket. I dont know here...this is sour beyond what it should be, so I will leave it at that...the carbonation or the hotness is causing me significant heart burn.
