Bottle sampled at the brewery. The pour reveals a jet black color with a thin, creamy, light brown head. Solid aroma of chocolate and coffee liquor. Very good flavor of chocolate and coffee liquor, sweetness lingers and mingles well with the vinous texture. The body is light to medium and the carbonation is moderate. Excellent.

roasted malt aroma .... sweet aroma ... carbonation is extreme, not the thick creamy feel I expected ... however this beer is delicious ... sweet ripe fruit taste ... dark chocolate .... figs, raisins, prunes ... very crisp and clean finish ... different than other imperial stouts I’ve had .... I’m putting this one high on my list ... at $5 a bottle it won’t make my rotation but it will be worth visiting again

Black, thick foamy tan head. Sugary creamed roasted coffee and crème brulee aromas lay on currents of musty mocha graham crackers and hints of toast. Bittersweet roasted chocolate flavors and mild dark fruit tones balance on notes of toasted vanilla coffee beans from beginning to end. Medium bodied, light airy carbonation, bittersweet finish. Unique and well made….

Hazy brown-gray pour with a thin white head. Weird color for an imperial stout. Sweet flowery aroma. Very fruity. maybe melon, and complex. Sweet and fruity taste. Perhaps a bit too much...tasted almost syrupy. Lots of cherry flavor. Malty bitter finish. Needs more balance, but drinkable.

Dark black body with a large creamy tan head. Sweet candi sugar and molassas aroma. Sweet molassas and caramel flavor with lots of spice. Medium body with moderately high carbonation and a smooth spicy alcoholic finish. Not quite the imperial stout I expected.

Bottle. Pours clear reddish brown with a massively lacy beige head. Aroma of dark chocolate, fruit and prunes with a bit of alcohol. Creamy medium body and fine carbonation. Lots of taste here, but not much of it is like an Imperial Stout, or even a Belgian Stout. Mostly sweet brown sugar, molasses, nuts, fruit, earth. A dash of licorice and chocolate just to keep it interesting. Kind of alcohol-hot on the spicy and semi-sweet finish.

The aroma is yeasty and reminiscent of a belgian ale. There is a definite toasted malt presence but also herbs and chocolate. The appearance is impressive with dark brown color and a hue head. The flavor is like the aroma but much more bitter. The palate is a little thin for the style. This is one of those rare quality beers that actually gets worse as it warms but, overall it’s Nice!
