Dark black body with a large creamy tan head. Sweet candi sugar and molassas aroma. Sweet molassas and caramel flavor with lots of spice. Medium body with moderately high carbonation and a smooth spicy alcoholic finish. Not quite the imperial stout I expected.

Bottle. Pours clear reddish brown with a massively lacy beige head. Aroma of dark chocolate, fruit and prunes with a bit of alcohol. Creamy medium body and fine carbonation. Lots of taste here, but not much of it is like an Imperial Stout, or even a Belgian Stout. Mostly sweet brown sugar, molasses, nuts, fruit, earth. A dash of licorice and chocolate just to keep it interesting. Kind of alcohol-hot on the spicy and semi-sweet finish.

The aroma is yeasty and reminiscent of a belgian ale. There is a definite toasted malt presence but also herbs and chocolate. The appearance is impressive with dark brown color and a hue head. The flavor is like the aroma but much more bitter. The palate is a little thin for the style. This is one of those rare quality beers that actually gets worse as it warms but, overall it’s Nice!

On tap at Max’s. Dark, dark pour with a very rich fruity, damp malt nose. Full, complex taste of everything from chocolate, prunes to brown sugar. Easy to drink for a 10 percenter.

A very dark black beer. It has a aroma of dark malts, dark fruits. It has a complete dark taste. it has various aromas. It has a thick beige foam head, which stays for a long time. The taste is different. It has a little sour, it has a little spicy, a little chocolate. you can say a lot of every thing. A very good beer which has a nice alcoholic, you don’t tast the 10.5 % alc. A good good beer.

Pours a deep brown with amber notes and a large bubbly light tan head. Aroma of caramel, some roasted malt, toffee and nuts. Flavor of roasted sweet malts, toffee, nuts, molasses, black licorice, vanilla and some smoke.

Very dark brown, huge initial head fades into a long lasting layer of creaminess that left great lacing. About perfect here. Aroma was Belgian style yeast, milk chocolate, and some alcohol notes. Plums and chocolate move into an almost woody, alcohol finish. Rather complex, and significantly better once warmed up to near room temperature. I really liked this as a clearly Belgian take on the Impy Stout style. Perhaps a bit lighter bodied than it could have been, but excellent nonetheless.

Very dark brown beer with a reddish shine, dense beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, red fruit, some moccha..unmistakenly belgian in character. Taste is sweet, sugared fruit (like turkish fruit) before a mild toasty bitterness comes in. Quite carbonated. Though warming, alcohol is well hidden. Very nice, could have been less sweet to balance it off better, but very satisfying.
