light chocolate, and light roasted malt. Taste is the same as aroma. Medium full mouthfeel with a moderate amount of bitterness and warm but never hot alcohol. Very good. Braudog (3778), Dayton, Ohio, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Nov 16, 2007 Bottle: This is an intriguing beer. It pours with the muddy blackness you’d expect of a beer labeled "stout" but also has the big, tightly woven head of white foam you expect from Belgian ales. Likewise, the the aroma is a crossbreed of a sugary sweet ale with an underlying pull of chocolate. The flavor isn’t quite as schizophrenic. Instead, this is clearly in the Belgian style, although the sugars are quite subtle. The alcohol has a distinct warming quality on the palate. Then, only as a whisper, one might detect a glimmer of cocoa well disguised within a splendedly assembled, totally unique beer. (#3205, 11/16/2007) aubreya (676), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 13, 2007 Thanks beerlando. Pours a strange RIS. The color was dark brown with a two finger creamy tan head. Smells fruity, sweet, malty, bready, slight Belgian hints, . The flavor is very strong alcohol upfront, like grain alcohol, some fruits, rich malt, a little chocolate, slight smoked character. Alcohol is very noticeable on the palate and it has a highly carbonated mouth feel, very strange for the style. Warms on the way down and does not finish long. thomat (666), Göteborg, Sweden

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 2, 2007 Pours black with a large tan head. Tons of chocolate, toffee, molasses, and dark fruit in the aroma. Surprisingly little roastiness. Musty dark fruit flavor with a good milk chocolate background. Just a touch of coffeeish roastiness to distinguish this from a particularly dark Belgian Strong. Still astounded at all the fruit. JoeMcPhee (5030), Jackson Heights, New York, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Oct 31, 2007 Mistakenly delivered by the bartended at Delerium Café, but oh, what a mistake! Deep black beer with a thick tan head. Fantastic aroma, molasses, milk chocolate, toasted malt and a dark plumminess that blends nicely with the chocolate. Heavy roast and a light tropical fruitiness that works very well together. Lots of fruit, pineapple, cherry and raspberry with a soft earthiness on the back. Well-balanced. Low carbonation and a great rich oily texture. Awesome.
