Dark-brown almost black color with medium-sized brown head. Sour oaky aroma akin to Rodenbach, fermented grapes. Taste is exactly what the aroma promised: Sour and fruity-refreshing, blackcurrant, sour apples, all set against a slightly roasted yeasty base. Alcohol is noticeable in just the right amount, mouthfeel is full and prickly-spicy.
I can hardly notice anything stout-like in the beer, to me it tastes like a souped-up Flemish Red with a twist; the closest neighbour I can think of being Oerbier Reserva. I have no idea if this is what the brewers were going for or if I’ve just happened upon an infected batch. Either way, as a Flemish Red it is absolutely excellent, highly drinkable and delicately sour without overdoing it.

(33cl bottle) Hazy, dark brown colour with a mahogany shine and a thick beige foamy head. Yeasty, slightly sweet and moderately roasted malty aroma with traces of caramel, leather and a berry-fruity touch. Light sweet and sourish flavour, full bodied, with a moderate carbonation. Slightly roasted malty taste with shy notes of chocolate and blackcurrant; caramelly and sourish fruity finish: Although the bb-date is October 2013 it is obviously already infected and needs a re-rate (19.IV.09).

Nearly black beer with no head to speak of. Sweet malty aroma with some salty fruit candy thrown in. The taste is again slightly candyish, this time a full assortment of them, sweetly malty and complex. A very odd imperial stout, despite the candyish qualities this is never cloying.

Bottle. Dark brown-red color, creamy head. Aroma of caramel and smoke. Taste was acidy, hints of caramel, coffee and wood. The smokey flavour stays in the aftertaste, but with the acid as well. I would’ve hoped it to be more bitter and less accidy, so I’m not a real fan, but you can’t call this a bad brew either.

Cloudy red brown color with thinnish tan head, aroma of candi sugar and malts, flavor of coffee and roasted malts with hints of licorice and candi sugar... Pretty good.

33cl bottle, black label. Dark brown to black, firm light beige with beautiful tight lace. Midly burned, lemony aroma with herbal liquorice, some metal and even barnyard. Not too stouty. Citric acidy flavor, little burned malts, sourness, hint of liquorice. Not too pleasant, with very mild flavors outside that lemony bite. Medium to full bodied, slick palate. Reminds me of a bad bottle of Ultrabrune, I kinda hope this one is bad too. Couldn’t finish the glass.
