thewolf (3392), Kolding, Denmark May 11, 2008 Bottle, bought @ Tønden, Haslev.
Pours deep brown with a fine, medium off-white head. Aroma is a bit weak, some dark dried fruits and light coffee. Medium carbonation, very creamy. Flavour is nicely sweet, good yeasty character amongst chocolate, light coffee and raisins. Rather dry and chocolatey finish. Not as impressive as I’d expected, but still, Man U is in front 0-1, with Chelsea still at 0-0.

Almost black, beige head. Sweet and fruity aroma, slightly brown and sour. Taste has raisins in spades. Too sweet, alas, but it certainly covers the alcohol well. Stouts, in particular imperial ones, shouldn’t be this stickily sweet imho. There are better big beers out there, but I’d not turn down an offer of another one, that’s for sure! cmillward (143), Orlando, Florida, USA Jul 13, 2008 Bottle. Black with chestnut hints, creamy tan head, rocky leaving nice lacing on the glass. Not your typical imp stout, but wonderful all the same. Huge aroma of chocolate, fruit, bready yeasts, a hint of funk, chocolate covered cherries, dark berries, and candi sugar. On the tongue this delivers a new combination of the aforementioned elements. Its starts with tart berries, slightly acidic, chocolate covered cherries, sugared figs, coffee, caramel, candi sugar, doughy yeasts.
Initially tart and fizzy, then sweet and sugary with coffee and caramel and chocolate, a bitter finish with a touch of alcohol along the way. Despite all the sweetness it ends dry. Full bodied and well balanced carb. I was impressed with the complexity and depth of character. This kept me on my toes and was excellent. sneagrams3 (1342), St. Louis, Missouri, USA Jul 12, 2008 The Dan Journal #193. Tasted 7/3/08. 330ml bottle. Dark brown hued with a hazy sedimented body. Lacing beige head. Cocoa dust in the nose. Full bodied and off-dry. Chalky cocoa flavors. Good dark malt notes. Chocolate and red berries. Grainy dregs. Tasty! railcat1 (478), Hammond, Indiana, USA Jul 7, 2008 This poured a dark brown with a tan head and was a sweet finish with roasted malts and light coffee taste and creamy but not very strong and some smoke flavor.CHEERS!
beerbill (1157), Laurel, New York, USA Jun 19, 2008 11.2 oz. bottle courtesy of a trade with SoLan. This one is a very lively pour. Even pouring it very slowly down the side of the glass it took me three pours to empty the bottle. The body is very dark brown that allows no light to pass through. The head is massive and uneven and disappears by mid-glass. Pleasant aroma of lightly roasted malt, very light smoke, alcohol and some apple. The flavor is malt with a bit of tobacco, followed by a tangy, almost tart flavor that I did not care for. Fairly strong alcohol flavor is present as well. Too much carbonation and thin on the palate, especially for an imperial stout.
