Draft at redlight redlight. Pours a dark brown, though a little thin for a stout. Hints of oak and wet dog in the nose. Sweet oaky flavor, slight roasted malt notes. Decent flavor but I do not care for the aroma. Could have a thicker mouth feel.

Bottle. Pour is cloudy brown with an enormous brown head. This bottle elected itself for consumption. I got it home form the store and heard a steady hiss coming from my bottle haul; it was this one leaking. Gusher anyway. Aroma is roasted malt, tannins, light sourness, faint alcohol, light wood, and red wine. Flavor is wine, alcohol, light sourness, fruits, and light acidity. I just had a glass of wine and this really is wonderful after that. Very smooth and balanced. Like wine, only much better.

On tap at redlight. Very fruity and tangy smell. Very dark fruits. alcohol. Incredibly smooth beer. Really like it, It is a little weird though.

Botella. Dark brown colour. Aroma of wood, dark fruits, roasted malt and pleasant alcohol. Flavour is sweet with dark fruits, caramel, roasty malt, wood and bourgogne spirits. Nice! Thanks yespr!

An almost opaque, clouded ruby. Thick aromas with loads of grape, sweet malts and heaps of boozy burn. Way too winy in the mouth with an almost vinegary aspect. I’m really not very sure at all. Plenty to think about but in the end its not wonderful.

Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Pours an almost clear reddish brown with a light brown head. Distinct oak in the nose. Quite full-bodied, sweet dried fruit and a pleasant vinous sourness. Soft mouthfeel and a warming alcoholic finish. Very delicious. 220809

Bottle from fata, another great gem he sent my way. Pours a dark reddish/brown color with a light tan head. Aroma has some nice raisiny characteristics, red wine, chocolate, prunes and a bit of tartness. Flavor is lightly tart from the red wine barrels mixed with a light amount of chocolate, cherries, oak and damn its good!

Draft at Redlight Redlight. Pours a kind of thin looking, translucent, crimson-mahogany body. An ultra-thin, swirly film disappears completely, leaving thin wisps and tiny spots of lacing on the glass. The aroma is fruity up front, with notes of black cherry dominating underlying notes of licorice, oak, and roasted black patent malt. Dry, chalky yeast comes through quite prominently as well. Flavors follow suit, again more fruity-tart than stout-like, with cocoa powdered dark cherries ruling the day. Vinous oak and dry, earthy, chalky yeast lend a distinctly Belgian feel. The palate feels a little thin despite the big ABV, feeling quite dry overall. Weird brew, but tasty.
