Commercial Description:
Bitterhed: 80+ IBU

English: With this our special brew, Batch One, we dared to experiment with our devotion to a solid malt profile combined with delicate American aroma hops. Batch One is an American Strong Ale characterized by its vast full body and generous amounts of hops. In the glass the beer has a reddish brown colour with a coppery glow, while the beige coloured head leaves a nice lacing in the glass. In this brew we have chosen to only use the noble Simcoe hop, both for boiling and the following dry hopping. The hops give the beer its fresh citrus like character and leaves a solid bitterness although it is balanced by sweet caramel malt. Amager Batch One is a potent beer which is not afraid to flex its muscles in both the alcohol and in its bitterness.
Bitterness: 80+ IBU

Draught at Plan B. Hazy dark amber coloured. Very piney hoppy aroma. Also plenty of sweet exotic fruits and a spicy touch. Sweetish exotic and hoppy flavour with some maltiness underneath. Full bodied. Soft carbonation. Very well balanced and pleasant. The new batch is much better than Batch One batch one. The first one had some unfortunate yeasty side flavours which are gone now.

Bottle from thewolf, thanks! Orange brown color. Malty, slightly salted seafood aroma. Malty sweetish flavor with pineapple, flowery hops and a hint of grapefruit. Well balanced beer.

Bottle at RBSG. Poured deep murky amber with a well-retained cap of off-white head. The aroma was sweet and deeper with lots of rich caramel and dark fruits.. some toast as well.. warm overall and enticing. The flavor had deep caramel and toffee at the core with dark fruit not far out.. spicy bitterness and dry oakage toward the back.. OK balance. Medium-plus bodied with lower carbonation on the palate.. bitterness was spicy and well-placed.. good mouthfeel.

RBSG ’08: Supplied by Ungstrup. Poured a hazy light amber color with an off-white head. The aroma was lightly sweet and fruity. Nice amount of pine and sweaty hops mixed in. Hoppy flavor of pine with sweet caramel malt making a base. Nice warming sensation.

Tasted at RBSG courtesy ungstrup! Nose of light grassy hops and some dark fruitiness; Murky copper with a big beige head; flavor of hop bitterness and fruit! Finish is bitter!

Pours dark orange gold, with a small off white head. Smells of a nice blend of sweet Belgian candy sugar and hops. Maybe a touch of citrus and malt in there too. The flavor was kinda the same. Almost like the sweet cinnamon-like candy sugar attacked up front, but the hops took over in the finish and left a familiar hop bitterness in the aftertaste. Really interesting and strange brew. Interesting is always usually good in my opinion when it relates to beer.
