Hildigöltur (5051), København Ø, Denmark Apr 12, 2008 Draught at Plan B. Hazy dark amber coloured. Very piney hoppy aroma. Also plenty of sweet exotic fruits and a spicy touch. Sweetish exotic and hoppy flavour with some maltiness underneath. Full bodied. Soft carbonation. Very well balanced and pleasant. The new batch is much better than Batch One batch one. The first one had some unfortunate yeasty side flavours which are gone now.
bierkoning (4691), La Tropica, Netherlands Aug 18, 2008 Bottle from thewolf, thanks! Orange brown color. Malty, slightly salted seafood aroma. Malty sweetish flavor with pineapple, flowery hops and a hint of grapefruit. Well balanced beer. Ughsmash (2958), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Aug 11, 2008 Bottle at RBSG. Poured deep murky amber with a well-retained cap of off-white head. The aroma was sweet and deeper with lots of rich caramel and dark fruits.. some toast as well.. warm overall and enticing. The flavor had deep caramel and toffee at the core with dark fruit not far out.. spicy bitterness and dry oakage toward the back.. OK balance. Medium-plus bodied with lower carbonation on the palate.. bitterness was spicy and well-placed.. good mouthfeel. goldtwins (3721), Nesconset, New York, USA Aug 8, 2008 RBSG ’08: Supplied by Ungstrup. Poured a hazy light amber color with an off-white head. The aroma was lightly sweet and fruity. Nice amount of pine and sweaty hops mixed in. Hoppy flavor of pine with sweet caramel malt making a base. Nice warming sensation. IrishBoy (2111), Bakersfield, California, USA Aug 7, 2008 Tasted at RBSG courtesy ungstrup! Nose of light grassy hops and some dark fruitiness; Murky copper with a big beige head; flavor of hop bitterness and fruit! Finish is bitter! mgumby10 (1624), West Palm Beach, Florida, USA Aug 5, 2008 Pours dark orange gold, with a small off white head. Smells of a nice blend of sweet Belgian candy sugar and hops. Maybe a touch of citrus and malt in there too. The flavor was kinda the same. Almost like the sweet cinnamon-like candy sugar attacked up front, but the hops took over in the finish and left a familiar hop bitterness in the aftertaste. Really interesting and strange brew. Interesting is always usually good in my opinion when it relates to beer.
