Mahogany black with an excellent off white head and lace. Amazing bright floral hoppage and petrol (in a good way, honestly) on top of some truly stunning black malt. The dark coffee character blends seamlessly with the fresh grassy hops. It’s probably the best integration between dark and golden I have experienced so far. Beautiful earthy finish with great length and a developing bitterness. Fantastic. harrisoni (6800), Ashford, Kent, England

Smooth and full bodied. Dry and lasting bitter hoppy and vaguely roasted end. Very nice. sunevdj (1774), Copenhagen OE, Denmark
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 12, 2009 Bottle at home. Pours a clearish brown with a beige head. Smells hoppy. Bitter with strong hoppy aromas. Hints of Belgian yeast fruit esters... this (unfortunately) disappears as the beer ages in the glass. Mellow aromas of roasted malts. Tiny hints of plant sap. Medium to full bodied. Medium carbonation. Long bitter finish with more hops aromas and a tiny hint of residual sugars. plovmand (1692), Helsinge, Denmark

Had this at the Borefts Beer Festival, De Molen Brewery, Bodegraven, Netherlands 30-10-09 Pours almost black with a very slim off-white head. Very hoppy nose, touch of resin, are the hops chinook? Really streaky, there is a pleasant citrusness. Most enjoyable. A7 A4 F8 P4 Ov16 3.9
