Aroma of smoke, meaty bacon and light roast. Flavour is balanced smoky, herbal, baconish, has light chocolatenotes and loads of roast as well. Very nice and balanced and a lot resemblance to the Bamberg smoke. Medium to full bodied. Ends on a smoked roasty note. Very nice beer.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 14, 2009 Deep ruby brown beer with a long lasting little tan head. The aroma has a lot of caramel to balance the smoke - there is some bacon, and a good dose of peat, but much more balanced that I had expected. Rather sweet flavour with lots of caramel, and a bunch of mostly peat smoke nuances - heavily phenolic, tar, medicine, and some bacon too. Delicious and very drinkable. There is definitely an American character too in all the caramel, and a subtle fruity note MPA (487), Nørrebro(formerly Aalborg), Denmark

Smoke, toasted malts, caramel and in flavour also a classy touch of hops and pleasant bitterness makes this a beer for all smoked beer lovers. I’m just waiting for Morten to enjoy his own beer as well, the little brew freak! ;-) Dedollewaitor (3669), Odense, Denmark

Clear dark brown colour with a nice big good lasting off-white head. Great aroma of smoke, turf and tar. Good mouthfeel. The flavour is quite smoky, but not as bombastic as I’d suspected, with turf and roasty malt along with a pleasant bitterness. Well lasting smoky finish. A well balanced tasty smoked brew. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 1, 2009 A fine smoke beer in roughly balanced. A little too much of this peat smoke to my taste, this means that this flavor is too dominant.
