beeranarchist (176), Aalborg, Denmark Apr 5, 2008 Bottle. Pitch black with a brown and creamy head that lasts forever. Great complex aroma of chocolate, coffee, good spirits, mild whisky and a hint of alcohol (but not overwhelming). Flavour and mouthfeel are very well balanced; not extremely bitter or sweet. Roasted, full body, creamy, suitable carbonation. Amager Bryghus simply make great imperial stouts!
BeerBiker (1209), Odense, Denmark Sep 27, 2008 25 cl bottle. Intense black with nice brown head. Thirstquencing beer just for the look. Aroma of deep notes of oil, oak, vanilla, whisky, coffechocs, asphalt, burned ingredients, portnotes, which can be a bit challenging, but indeed a very nice beer. More! saxo (2318), Højbjerg, Aarhus, Denmark Sep 26, 2008 Bottle. Nice head with good duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are roast malt, chocolate, coffee, alchohol and hops. Doppelganger (1199), Oxford, Oxfordshire, England Sep 24, 2008 Bottle, from henrikb. Thanks! Openned with Fin, Loz and Traci at our "Welcome Home Frank" tasting. Shiny oily black, fine tan head. A mysterious funky nose. Laundry left in the washer a day or two too long. A ripe and pokey blue cheese. Cola, dark chocolate. Smokey high-cocoa chocolate, ashy burned toast, vanilla and a touch of sweet. Sometimes the enthusiam of imperial stouts is what is fun about them, and this one has that fo ’sho. Ole_R (1282), Oslo, Norway Sep 22, 2008 Draught@EBF 2008. Jet black. Brown head. Aroma is packed with ashy dark malts, dark bitter chocolate, licorice, roast and spices. Full-flavored. Rich malty and roasted. Lots of bittering hops, quite rough and edgy actually. More chocolate, licorice and roast. Also notes of whiskey, tar and wood. Big body. A tough and tasty one. KnutAlbert (2322), Oslo, Norway Sep 22, 2008 Draught at EBF, Copenhagen.
Wonderfully spicy and complex aroma. Soot, coffee, oak barre. Long smoky finish.
