Commercial Description:
Bitterhed: 81 IBU

English: When poured into the glass you will instantly sense that Hr. Frederiksen is a gentleman with both potency and a huge personality. Dark as Hr. Frederiksen’s humour, this imperial stout is inspired by the American imperial stouts with its dense and creamy light brown head that leaves nice lacings in the glass while the head reluctantly dissipates. We are willing to admit that we went crazy with the malts in this beer. A massive 8 different types of malts were used, and it is the dark and heavily roasted ones that give the beer its colour and almost extreme full body - this is almost a meal in a bottle. The bitterness is also delivered by the heavily roasted malts backed up by the American Centennial hops. Oh yes, Hr. Frederiksen is an experience which should be enjoyed slowly, but in return he will last all night warming you with his alcohol and challenging charm.
We have named this beer after a good friend, without whom, Amager Bryghus would not be what it is today.

pours dark with a thick brown head that lasts. smells of alcohol, ripe berries, and melted down cocoa over coals. not the first sensation, but the dominant one is dry cocoa, a beer that really makes me thirsty, so i frink more, then more, and so on. light roast notes, incredibly warming. chocolate, some caramel, plum, nougat, a bnit of hardwood 2x4, yep i know what building materials taste like(fuck off we’ve all lost bets), blueberry and chocolate chip finish. a bit of resin like pine notes seep througfh, maybe not the best choise on a still night in july, but a damn good one that i will revisit when i haven’t biked around town all day, should have gone with the saison for a nightcap. i’ll pick up more of these for the mornings that are coming.

This beer really impressed me. Big dark brown maybe black pour with huge frothy milk chocolate shake looking head. Nose is big on chocolate, malt, espresso. Flavor leans towards espresso and is extremely smooth and easy drinking. Great beer.

Purchased at West Lakeview Liquors in Chicago. This is a pretty well-executed Imperial Stout. Nothing outstanding in any way. Expedition woulda been a better choice for the $

Pours black with a thick and creamy tan head. Strong chocolate malt aroma. Extremely creamy body, very smooth. Flavors are more chocolate malt with a hint of coffee and a slightly bitter finish. Nicely balanced. Very good beer..

22oz bottle thanks to 17th floor. Pours dark brown with a lacing creamy head. Roasty rich aromas that are creamy and inviting. Light body. Roasted malt flavors that are burnt with a decent hop presence visible underneath the malts. Solid beer.
