Commercial Description:
Bitterhed: 81 IBU

English: When poured into the glass you will instantly sense that Hr. Frederiksen is a gentleman with both potency and a huge personality. Dark as Hr. Frederiksen’s humour, this imperial stout is inspired by the American imperial stouts with its dense and creamy light brown head that leaves nice lacings in the glass while the head reluctantly dissipates. We are willing to admit that we went crazy with the malts in this beer. A massive 8 different types of malts were used, and it is the dark and heavily roasted ones that give the beer its colour and almost extreme full body - this is almost a meal in a bottle. The bitterness is also delivered by the heavily roasted malts backed up by the American Centennial hops. Oh yes, Hr. Frederiksen is an experience which should be enjoyed slowly, but in return he will last all night warming you with his alcohol and challenging charm.
We have named this beer after a good friend, without whom, Amager Bryghus would not be what it is today.
Bitterness: 81 IBU

50 cl bottle of batch 115 at Olutkellari Helsinki. Quite opaque black with a tan head of mediocre size. Roasted malt and sugary sweetness dominate the aroma. After a while in the glass it was also possible to note a scent of alcohol. Notes of roasted coffee beans, dark chocolate, hops and treacle in the taste. Hoppy bittterness and hints of charcoal in the aftertaste. A delightful Imperial Stout.

I got my knife & fork out in anticipation of this beer & was not disappointed. Pours out as black as your hat with a lovely fawn head. The nose is intense with malt, burnt molasses, some sweetness but also a nice bitter spiciness. Just lovely on the palate, smoother than James Bond, excellent subtle carbonation. Great balance of flavours, burnt malt & the sweetness of pale honey, or brown sugar, not chocolate. The finish is a whopper, long with great bitterness, slight chalk/minerals & spice & that sweetness left on the lips to leave you wanting more.

Bottle. Pours like ten fifty (not fiddy) motor oil, with a large, dark brown head and a pitch black body. Great lace left behind. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, dark fruits, leather and a sort of sweet, vanilla like tannin. Taste is super dry residual sugars wise, with a pronounced bitterness. Supper rich coffee, leather, alcohol, and dry baking chocolate. Creamy carbonation and mouthfeel.

Dark black pour with a creamy tan head. Aromas of deep milk chocolate, roast, licorice, really nice. Flavor presents a very nice expresso and chocolate combination, with a slight peppery kick in the finish. Really quality and unique offering here. I am enjoying this immensely!
