Commercial Description:
Bitterhed: 81 IBU

English: When poured into the glass you will instantly sense that Hr. Frederiksen is a gentleman with both potency and a huge personality. Dark as Hr. Frederiksen’s humour, this imperial stout is inspired by the American imperial stouts with its dense and creamy light brown head that leaves nice lacings in the glass while the head reluctantly dissipates. We are willing to admit that we went crazy with the malts in this beer. A massive 8 different types of malts were used, and it is the dark and heavily roasted ones that give the beer its colour and almost extreme full body - this is almost a meal in a bottle. The bitterness is also delivered by the heavily roasted malts backed up by the American Centennial hops. Oh yes, Hr. Frederiksen is an experience which should be enjoyed slowly, but in return he will last all night warming you with his alcohol and challenging charm.
We have named this beer after a good friend, without whom, Amager Bryghus would not be what it is today.

Bit of tartness in the aroma. Fruit and chocolate in the taste. Maybe some raspberry. Not particularly heavy or thick. But also not a light stout. Quite nice.

Black pour with a dark brown head. Molasses and dark chocolate liqueur aroma. Dry chocolate, black coffee, light tar and leather flavor. Very complex yet subtle. Superb.

500 ml bottle poured a translucent deep dark brown nearly black with a lasting brown head. Aromasof roasted malt, bitter chocolate, coffee and licorice. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of roasted malt, bitter chocolate, licorice and light coffee with a smooth lingering roasty bitter finish. Alcohol is not noticable at all, amazing for the ABV.

Bottle (500ml) shared with HogTownHarry & garthicus -- c/o HogTownHarry. Batch No 115, best before 07/2013. Pours black with a large lasting fluffy light-brown head. Lovely dry roasty aroma with lots of hops, coffee and chocolate. Flavour’s delicious! Roasted malt, green hops, dark chocolate, coffee and a huge dry bitter finish. Alcohol’s fairly well hidden. Full bodied. Simply put: Fantastic!

16oz bottle. Pours a deep black with a big puffy dark brown head. Densely packed with huge duration. Nose is some dark raisin, moderate coffee roast and alot of burnt caramel. Flavor is deeply caramelized sugar, bitter dark chocolate. Chocolate covered raisins and perhaps even some figs in the middle and a coffee like roasted malt with hints of chocolate and vanilla finishes out. Complex and good but lacking any sort of standout wow factor of some of the best imperial stouts. Still a terrific beer and far better than most attempts at the style.

A black colored beer, with an almost brown, thick foamy head. The aroma of roasted malts, with coffee and chocolate. Some sweets of dark fruits. The taste of pure chocolate with coffee, roasted malts. Some sweets of prunes, with a little spices. The aftertaste is dry, with bitter and chocolate. A wonderful beer.

No. 300 - "Big Beer". Near black color with a very tall, shiny, tiny tan bubbled head. Very lasting head. Dark chocolate, mild licorice, roasted malt, dark candi, viennese coffee all come together for a very pleasant aroma. Fairly light, but smooth and rich in feel. Initial fairly sharp flavors with anise, and grapefruit zest. Dark chocolate, dark malt and coffee are there but don’t grandstand. Lightly acidic black malt i the finish and linger. Alcohol is not to be found, or perhaps there is a bit of ouzo to this one. Quite dry in the finish and linger. A touch of charred malt wanders lonely about. It doesn’t seem to hold my attention all the way to the end, but a nice stout nonetheless.
