Commercial Description:
Editor's note: second batch of this was released August 9th 2008.

Bitterhed: 81 IBU

English: When poured into the glass you will instantly sense that Hr. Frederiksen is a gentleman with both potency and a huge personality. Dark as Hr. Frederiksen's humour, this imperial stout is inspired by the American imperial stouts with its dense and creamy light brown head that leaves nice lacings in the glass while the head reluctantly dissipates. We are willing to admit that we went crazy with the malts in this beer. A massive 8 different types of malts were used, and it is the dark and heavily roasted ones that give the beer its colour and almost extreme full body - this is almost a meal in a bottle. The bitterness is also delivered by the heavily roasted malts backed up by the American Centennial hops. Oh yes, Hr. Frederiksen is an experience which should be enjoyed slowly, but in return he will last all night warming you with his alcohol and challenging charm.
We have named this beer after a good friend, without whom, Amager Bryghus would not be what it is today.
Bitterness: 81 IBU

Bottle. Black pour with brown head. Aroma is lots of chocolate and burnt malt, but also a considerable amount of bitter and earthy european hops. The hops and the chocolate don’t really mix that well, in my opinion. Flavor is the same, like a black IPA, mixed with an imperial stout. The flavors fight each other in my mouth, but good chocolate.

Pours a nice thick black color with a deep tan head. Aroma is nutty, with some dark fruit, chocolate, and roast. A little sweet smelling. Flavor is nice and robust, deep chocolate, roasted malt, a little bit of dark fruit. Nice thick mouthfeel. Good Imperial stout.

Bottle 500 ml ?
Appearance: black , thick look , mocha thick, tanned look. Good lace noted.4+
Nose: sweet light frontal feel , roasted barley , hint of spice ,brown malts and alcohol. Solid with vinous feel.8-
Flavor/Palate : very smooth , clean with surprisingly soft palate. Roasts around with superb smooth vodka touch. Good base of brown malts. Bit dry that works quiet well in this case. Classic drinkable Imperial stout.

Bottle @ Red Feather: Pours a thick black with a large tanish brown head. The nose is strong with chocolate and coffee, ample roastiness of all levels and a thorough vanilla and cherry lashing. The flavor is big and chewy, lots of sweetness, bitterness, astringency and roasty qualities swimming about. The finish is hoppy and bitter with more dark chocolate and a cafe cubano like finish with the earthiness. Delicious, big and potent for a perfect after dinner aperitif.

Bottle Sparky27. Thanks!! Pours pitch black with tan head. Aroma is a complex array of dark roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, and dark fruit. Viscous mouthfeel, but I thought it would have been a bit more thick considering the amount of malts that went into this. Flavor follows the nose exactly and finishes with a chocolate flavor. This is a solid beer. Thanks again E!

0,5 l bottle, bought in Cracked Kettle, Amsterdam. Poured black with a small but creamy brown head that dimminshes slowly. Superintensive aroma of fruity-resiny hop and dark fruits, plus a powerfull smell of deep roasted grains, dark chocolate, tobacco. Oily and thick body with a rich texture of resiny hop, tons of roasted malt, coffe and dark chocolate, taste of dried dark fruits. Well hidden alcohol. Longlonglong aftertaste of deep roasted grains and hop-cones. Please more and more beers like this!

It poured a pitch black liquid, with a medium sized light brown foam, that lasted a while and left some lacing. It had a strong smell of chocolate, coffey and nuts. Very nice. It had a heavy taste of chocolate, coffey and burned toast. Smooth mouthfeel and thick body. A very nice beer I really enjoyed it.
