Commercial Description:
Bitterhed: 81 IBU

English: When poured into the glass you will instantly sense that Hr. Frederiksen is a gentleman with both potency and a huge personality. Dark as Hr. Frederiksen’s humour, this imperial stout is inspired by the American imperial stouts with its dense and creamy light brown head that leaves nice lacings in the glass while the head reluctantly dissipates. We are willing to admit that we went crazy with the malts in this beer. A massive 8 different types of malts were used, and it is the dark and heavily roasted ones that give the beer its colour and almost extreme full body - this is almost a meal in a bottle. The bitterness is also delivered by the heavily roasted malts backed up by the American Centennial hops. Oh yes, Hr. Frederiksen is an experience which should be enjoyed slowly, but in return he will last all night warming you with his alcohol and challenging charm.
We have named this beer after a good friend, without whom, Amager Bryghus would not be what it is today.
Bitterness: 81 IBU

Bottle from trade with Sprinkle. Thanks Mike! Pours a black color with a medium tan head. Aroma of roasted coffee, dark chocolate, oak and vanilla. Taste of coffee, roasted malts, over ripe fruit, and dark chocolate. Some bitterness in the finish.

Bottled. Black pour, dense brown head, faded quickly. Roasty coffee yeasty nose. Flavor of roast dark coffee, alcohol, chocolate. Rich, bitter, with a long aftertaste. Satisfying and well-balanced.

Bottled from De Molen shop, Bodegraven. Opaque black, dark brown head. Strong nose of coffee, roasted malts, some liquorice. Malty flavour, again the coffee, but after awhile strong bitterness appears, together with rye. Very long-lasting dry and bitter finish. A bit too bitter to my liking, but i can see that this is a very well-balanced brew, great stuff.

Sometimes, you stumble across a beer due to the generosity of others and this was one of those times. A trade with Daknole brought me this wonderful beer and just....wow. What an incredible stout. Big in every way, but so smooth and so damned tasty...like a smooth scotch. First, the beer pours out a solid black body, coating my glass with an iodine looking color and sitting atop that was a stunning dark beige frothy head. Aroma had copious amounts of roasted malts, chewy chocolate goodness, subtle anise and somthing that resembled a coke-meets-fudge drink. Body has some crafty sweetness to it....easy to enjoy like a well made dessert drink, but nothing cloying or overdone. Chocolate, rummy raisins, coffee, earth with some light tobacco like notes. Can’t wait to go find this locally.

Poured dark, basically viscous into my glass with a thin ring of brown foam. The aroma was sugary sweet chocolate and roasted malts with a touch of coffee. The flavor was dominated by sugars and chocolate with a bit of coffee and malts. Almost full bodied mouthfeel. ABV was well hidden. A sipper that is best shared.

Bottled. Not a big fan of stouts... Dark brown, rich in colour. Nose of burnt leather and chocklate. Tastes of tar and crude oil.

Tap @ Pikkulintu, Helsinki. Pitch black colour and a creamy head. Aroma has roasted malts, coffee, dark chocolate, licourice and hops. Flavour quite the same. Full bodied. Very enjoyable although it was torture to wait while it warmed it the glass. :)

(50cl bottle) Lovely pour reveals a large brown head atop black body. Aroma is moderately sweet, coffee, bittersweet chocolate, vinous, light roast. Taste is moderately sweet, coffee, some roast, bittersweet chocolate, ash, light alcohol, earthy. Smooth, even somewhat watery, medium-full body. Good, but I like the Fru. quite a bit more.
