Commercial Description:
Editor's note: second batch of this was released August 9th 2008.

Bitterhed: 81 IBU

English: When poured into the glass you will instantly sense that Hr. Frederiksen is a gentleman with both potency and a huge personality. Dark as Hr. Frederiksen's humour, this imperial stout is inspired by the American imperial stouts with its dense and creamy light brown head that leaves nice lacings in the glass while the head reluctantly dissipates. We are willing to admit that we went crazy with the malts in this beer. A massive 8 different types of malts were used, and it is the dark and heavily roasted ones that give the beer its colour and almost extreme full body - this is almost a meal in a bottle. The bitterness is also delivered by the heavily roasted malts backed up by the American Centennial hops. Oh yes, Hr. Frederiksen is an experience which should be enjoyed slowly, but in return he will last all night warming you with his alcohol and challenging charm.
We have named this beer after a good friend, without whom, Amager Bryghus would not be what it is today.
Bitterness: 81 IBU

Bottle generously shared by miketd. Thanks dude!
Pours black with a light, thin tan head. Smell is rich roasty and hoppy. Very nice and balanced. Very hoppy, roasty and sharp flavor. Somewhat medium to rich bodied with soft carbonation. Very solid beer.

Draught at the brewery. Pours with a black body with a frothy, dark tan head, medium last, that sticks to the sides of the glass. Aroma is not that strong/powerfull, but what is there is gooood. :-) inviting aroma of sweetish dark malts, licorice, and dark chocolate with hints of roast, smoke and alchol.Taste of dark maltiness, fulled roasted, coffee and dark chocolate. Medium sweetness, bitterness from the hops, and ends with an nice taste of licorice that lasts forever. Palate is really nice and creamywith good carbonation. This is a damm good cup of beer. Good it is back.

(6/29/08) Bottle sample at RBESG08 grand tasting in Plzen. Black-colored beer with a brown foam. Aroma is full of burnt malt and lots of espresso that spent a bit too long in the espresso machine waiting to be dripped into the mug. A slightly sweet flavor at first with almost burnt malt, coffee, some cocoa and caramel. Full-bodied.

Draught at the brewery. Pitch black with a creamy mocca coloured longlasting head. You wont find it any better than this. A beauty! Aroma is roasted malts, lots of coffee and leather. Flavour is a good mix of roastyness, chocolate, coffee, liqorice and mocca. Long liqorice finish. One of my favorites!

Pitch black color, good tan head. Coffeish, roasted aroma. Foamy carbonation. Licorice and coffee flavors. Very roasted and alcoholic - all in balance. Long toasted aftertaste.
