Commercial Description:
Bitterhed: 81 IBU

English: When poured into the glass you will instantly sense that Hr. Frederiksen is a gentleman with both potency and a huge personality. Dark as Hr. Frederiksen's humour, this imperial stout is inspired by the American imperial stouts with its dense and creamy light brown head that leaves nice lacings in the glass while the head reluctantly dissipates. We are willing to admit that we went crazy with the malts in this beer. A massive 8 different types of malts were used, and it is the dark and heavily roasted ones that give the beer its colour and almost extreme full body - this is almost a meal in a bottle. The bitterness is also delivered by the heavily roasted malts backed up by the American Centennial hops. Oh yes, Hr. Frederiksen is an experience which should be enjoyed slowly, but in return he will last all night warming you with his alcohol and challenging charm.
We have named this beer after a good friend, without whom, Amager Bryghus would not be what it is today.
Bitterness: 81 IBU

Pours pitch black with a thick lasting brown head - no doubt a 5 for appearance, absolutely beautiful. The aroma is powerfull, I could smell the beer immediately when I started pouring it into the glass. Roasted, malty, chocolaty, hoppy with an excellent balance. Hint of sourness in there as well, brett-like. The flavor is equally powerfull. Lots and lots of malt and chocolate with a nice sweet candied touch and plenty of fruity and bitter hops. Very balanced and complex and smooth like a mofo. Loooong bitter finish that lasts forever. No doubt a WORLD CLASS beer and the best to come from a Danish brewery (that isn’t Mikkeller or Ølfabrikken) maybe forever......!! What an excellent beginning for this newcomer! I bow my head in the dust to Jacob and Morten.

Thanks to Dickonsonbeer for sharing this. I’ve been after this one for quite some time. Bottle # 294/400, batch 5 and BB 05 2010. Poured pitch black with a medium sized tan head that left a nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is strong roasted coffee and chocolate. Taste is of roasted coffee, vanilla, chocolate, with a nice creamy smooth finish. Hops are present, but balanced very well with the rest of this incredible Imperial stout. Thanks Paul!!!

Sampled at the RBESG08 grand tasting. Black with a dark beige head. Tar dominated aroma with dark roasted coffee and hops. Medium to heavy bodied and very smooth. Well balanced, long bitter aftertaste.

Bottle 294 from thecheeseman!!! Thanks Dan!! Also shared courtesy of BrianK a few weeks back. Pours a very dark black oily viscous body with a nice long lasting glistening tan almost orange head. Aroma is intense with coffee, roasted barely, chcooalte malts, and evne some fresh hops, but they all work perfectly together- I also get hints of toasted almond and licorice int her eas well. Flavor has a nice cool clean smooth coffee with blends so well with the roast of themalts, lgiht smokiness, tar and leather, and a nice subdued yet noticed hop character in the end. This was so intense, yet so refined and balanced. Freakin awesome impy stout.

Poured an opaque black color with a medium sized, mocha colored head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of dried fruits, smoke, roasted chestnuts, burnt malts, and some dark chocolate. Taste of roasted malts, smoke, chocolate, raisins and other dark fruits, with a bit of alcohol in the finish. Thanks Paul!
