Courtesy TheCheeseMan. Poured amber with a moderate off-white head. Deeply malty aroma, strong grassy hops, slight fruitiness, and some alcohol, but not as much as expected for 10%+. Thick malty taste, some slight astringency from the hops, a slight heat on the back end. Not much stands out, but still is a nice strong brew.

Amager Mikkeller Kølle pours up with a light carbonation that creates a small beigeish head that neatly sits atop the hazy, orangish-amber body. The aroma is very grassy with an almost cheesy/stale hop character that unforntunately dominates over the rich underlying Munich maltiness & fruitiness that’s reminiscent of carmalized apples, ripe figs & spicy prune compote. There’s a noticeable alcohol character as it warms. The flavor starts off with a heavy toastiness followed by some burnt caramel sweetness supplimented by a moderate fruitiness, but again the heavy "odd" stale hop character(s) & bitterness combined with a wet, leathery character really detracts from the overall enjoyment. There’s a bit of cheek warmth on the back end that enhances the complexity. I bet the Simcoe hops really stood out in its youth, but unfortunately this one has aged past its prime, but it still rates because of the rarity factor. This would pair well with some traditional soused herring & mild Edam cheese. Here’s to Amager which is one of the smallest breweries in the world! Skål! Beertracker *Taster’s Note: Thanks 2 beerhandy for sharing this interesting collaboration!

Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. The look is orange in color with a beige colored head. The smell is fruits, yeast, raisans, grape jelly. The taste is musty, soap, fruits, and paper.

250 ml bottle. Dark reddish brown. Slightly hazy, Tall light beige head. Bold appley and caramelly aroma. The bottle has been stored about a year and a half, and I think that is noticeable as I have had this beer before. If feels a little out of balance. Strong alcohol notes mixed with sherry-like flavours and plum. Very odd indeed. Wooden characters. Finish is on the bitter side, but the residual sugars balances it out.

Bottle from Danish shop owner Svend Nymen. Misleading picture as this is the ordinary bottle collaboration in silver, not the bourbon cask gold. Pours ale white whine colour with lots of white foam that sticks to the glass. Boozy with full mouthfeel and rich bitter finish. Decent barleywine.

[Bottle, thanks Marsiblursi!] Pours reddish-brown with a small beige head. Aroma is quite sweet, with caramel, cherry, alcohol, touch of pepper, and a few notes of raisin. The fruitiness really comes out towards the end. The taste has pepper again, with some marshmallow, light strawberry, and some notes of papaya. Decent mouthfeel and an average length finish. Not a bad barley wine, but certainly not a standout. Thanks again, Marsiblursi!

Bottled. Dark amber coloured. dense light brown head. Ripe fruits, raisin, ligh portwine, spice and light alcohol in the aroma. Flavour is sweet, full of ripe fruits, alcohol and light caramel. Quite balanced and full. Medium to full bodied. Fruity light spiced end. Alcoholwarmth on the lips. Quite nice
