goldtwins (3721), Nesconset, New York, USA Jul 27, 2008 Thanks to Eyedrinkale. Poured a hazed gold with an off white head. The aroma of sweet fruity malt and a light yeasty spice. Toasty and fruity malt and a mild spice finish. The finish had some length. A light to medium body. Eyedrinkale (3102), Beer Town, New York, USA Jun 15, 2008 If the bottle is 500 ml, why is the Amarcord glass about 25 cl? Anyway, the white head holds up over the orange/gold body. Plenty malty and if I didnt know better, would think this was a bock. No real Belgian yeast spiciness. Some honey, vanilla and sweet grains. Orange/tangerine in the aroma. Why is it so sweet? stoutlover72 (1320), NorCal, California, USA May 29, 2008 Swing-top bottle - One of the regulars at our tastings brought this back with him on a recent trip to Italy. Usually the beers he brings back are pretty average at best, but this was a nice one actually. The beer pours out a dark golden/amber color with a fairly small sized head. Weak caramel, a nice sweet fruit character with a touch of hops, honey and spices. The flavor had a very subtle sourness about it, almost like it wasn’t supposed to be there but it worked. Strong malts, toffee, honey with a very fruity finish. Not bad! beerguy101 (3468), Newark, California, USA May 16, 2008 Tasted at the May Northern California Beer Tasting. This Belgian ale poured a pale gold color from a swing top bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity and sweet with a hint of tartness. A medium to light bodied ale. The malts are fruity and sweet. The hops are herbal. There is some tartness and maybe a little funk here as well. Interesting beer. A very drinkable beer, light and refreshing. Mouthfeel is full. The finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is sweet.
