Poured a red-orange with a firm yet light white head. Aroma is lots of malt with some sweetness - honey, fruits. Flavor is very alcoholic with caramel notes. Mild dryness and bitterness. Lingering taste of alcohol. bhensonb (4335), Woodland, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 4, 2009 Bottle from Wine and Cheese. Pours lightly hazy amber with virtually no head. Aromas of very roasted malt and something like tobacco. Near fully bodied with very mild carbonation. Flavor is caramel, with a cola aspect, and enough bitter to make it palatable. That’s a very poor description of a beer that’s smooth and quite drinkable. There is no trace of heat. Just realized this is 10%. Comes very close to barley wine. Pretty tasty beer. yespr (12228), Copenhagen O, Denmark
