Pretty much as dark as a beer can get and it has a great head too! Thick, milky and slightly burnt aromas. Tastes pretty much identical to an actual Terry’s Chocolate Orange but fresh and light. Drinkable, with a smooth consistency though possibly a touch on the thin side.

Cask Handpump at the GBBF, Earls Court 04/08/2009 Fruit and hop aromas. Dark coloured smooth on the palate and fruity orange flavour with a little dryness in a crisp chocolate roast finish.

Cask (gravity) @ GBBF 09, Great British Beer Festival, Earls Court Exhibition Centre, London, England.
Clear dark brown color with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, dusty coffee, vanilla notes, light to moderate hoppy, citrus - orange peel. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, and a coffee dusty finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat. [20090804]

A Mes rate: Cask at GBBF.
Black with no head. Aroma? Terry’s Chocolate Orange. Flavour? Terry’s chocolate orange. Artificial as hell but then again, so is a Terry’s Chocolate Orange. This should come in a circular recepticle in a square box and have Terry’s Chocolate Orange written on the side. Nice one.

Cask at GBBF 2009. Black, lasting tan head. Slightly artificial choc/orange flavour, just on the right side of being acceptable. Decent grainy orange finish though.

Black with a lasting tan head. Strong orange peel and chocolate aroma. Sweet chocolate flavour with lots of orange peel. I’m not a fan of orange chocolates, so there...

(Cask at GBBF, London Earl’s Court, 6 Aug 2009) Dark brown colour, almost black. Frothy, pale brown head. Malty, fruity and roasted nose with notes of dark fruit, liquorice and chocolate. Malty, roasted taste with chocolate, liquorice, vanilla, a touch of soy sauce and orange. Medium body, rather sweet. Nice and tasty with an interesting orange twist.
