Commercial Description:
Cask, Regular;
A balanced IPA with toffee malt flavours but not too sweet, against rich American Norther Brewer hops and the distinctive Styrian Golding.

Cask (gravity) at the Hop Pole beer festival, Aylesbury, April 2009. Nice bright orangey copper colour. Not much head or condition. Rather under brewed malt aroma. Quite deep chalky hop flavour. Fairly bitter finish. This was one of the beers that initially caught my eye on the festival list but, whilst perfectly respectable, it didn’t quite live up to expectations - maybe served a little green.

Cask at The Lion Hotel, Belper, Derbyshire, 17-01-08 Amber in colour with a bit more sweetness on the nose than hops, I quite liked this beer there was toffee flavours flying around and it had pretty good depth, if I have one criticism, it is that this could have been really good if they’d curbed the sweetness and hopped it a bit more, a better and more refined pint than the Winter Ruby though. A6 A4 F6 P3 Ov14 Had this again on Cask gravity at The Hop Pole, Easter Beer Festival, Aylesbury, Bucks in the company of Loz, Chris O and Ruth 10-04-09 Pours amber with a white head with the merest hint of haze. Some citrus and fruity toffee. Lasting bitterness, tasty beer but another that sits uncomfortably with the IPA tag A6 A4 F6 P3 Ov13 3.2
