The Smithfield, Manchester. Cappuccino head on pitch. Roasty espresso, singed barley aroma with a hint of vanilla. Smoke building in the mouth with more black coffee, bramble and soot. Solid dry burnt to a crisp finish. Body a bit flimsy and low condition, but creamy with it. Some true stoutiness here, Joy Division on the jukebox. 14 easy.

Aug 07 Cask conditioned @ Flowerpot Derby. Chocolatey roast. Failrly dry with mild toasty finish. Roastiness becomes a bit overpowering by the end. 3.0
Gravity Cask @ Reading Beer Fesitval 07. Drinkable but unexciting stout with hints of smoky coffee and chocolate. Pretty run of the mill. 2.9

A Mes rate: Gravicask @ Reading Beer Festival. Black with a slight tan head. Red wine and some nice oaky and smokey notes. Some fruity character also. Just seems to be lacking some balls. Slightly chalky in the finish. Good but could be better.

Cask, Derby Winter Fest 07. Black with a beige head. Aromas are sweet earthy roast malts with some smokiness and rooty liquourice notes. Flavours are plain chocolate bitterness with roast malts. Some berries and winter fruit. Black forest gateaux. Some metallic notes. Pretty good.

Cask@Derby Winter Beer Festival 2007. Black beer with strong head. The aroma is roasted and mild and the flavour is watery and mildly malty. Overall a nice gentle beer, more like a mild than a stout.
