Soft and well carbonated in the mouth. The flavor is a sweet caramel/toffee with a hint of chocolate, yeast, licorice, pepper, and other spices. It finishes on an oddly sweet yet dry note, then leaves a touch of bitterness in the mouth. Nice.

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 14, 2005 (Bottled, BBE 09/2004 - 11 months ago) Opaque dark amber color with a medium, foamy and lasting, a bit lacy head. Toffee-caramely aroma with lots of acidity, some berries and something stingy (yet unidentified). Sweet, acidic flavor of unfermented malt, toffee and caramel, plus berries. Peppery, bitter and acidic finish. ABV well hidden. Medium-bodied, sweet and foamy-carbonated palate. One of the many brews Huyghe shouldn’t be that proud of. Strange it’s still so sweet way after the BBE date. Papsoe (15009), Frederiksberg, Denmark

A beer brewed in celebration of Jacques Brel? Amber coloured with a huge but collapsing head leaving to traces. Flavour of caramel and some candi sugar. But certainly not a great beer. 310799
