Hazy dark amber, small off-white head. Dark burnt malty, plums and alcoholic flavor. Roasted malty flavor, chestnuts. Hoppy bitterness and coffee in the finish. Quite alcoholic too for only 6.2% beer. JorisPPattyn (5192), Antwerpen, Belgium

Alcohol, caramel - and apple. As caramelised apple in the oven, the cinnamon forgotten. A bit of vanilla instead. Sharp burnt/roasted taste, scorched caramel, Huyghe all over. The apple has been burnt, leaving a bit of acidity besides. Alcoholwarming, medium bodied, creamy, slick, burning sensation. Pff; the Duwac original didn’t gain prices neither. Off-white, small (due to the age (?)) head. Nose of citrus, vinegar. Moderately bitter, heavily acitic initial flavour. Lightly bitter, moderately acitic finish. Warm flavour. Medium to fully bodied. Pale dusty brown body and a towering and rich cream colored head. Aroma is rather tart and venous, really reminds me of a Flemish Sour. Abundant notes of: wheat, tart cherries, green apples, and a touch of blue cheese. The flavor brings hints of sour dough bread and extra green apple, along with some tart suggestions of green grapes and a nodule of black pepper corn. This reminds me of a VERY-VERY subdued version of a bottle of Cantillon Vigneronne I once had… Ambrel is slightly barnyard - horse blanket but very enjoyable… very pleasant… and the bottle certinaly has some age on it ….. BEST BEFORE: October 2002… HAHA, but I like it in May 2004!!! CaptainCougar (5523), Rockville, Maryland, USA

Nice bready Belgian malt and yeast aroma with a hint of candi sugar. Body has a good thickness and is well balance with toffee sweetness. Seems to have held up quite well in the bottle. A very enjoyable Belgian ale, courtesy of Rastacouere. TheBeerGod (3167), Newport News, Virginia, USA

Pours a clouded orange-brown with a medium tan head. Aroma is laden with fruit, sugar, alcohol and sweetened malts. The taste is very sweet. Ripe fruit, sugar, and light spice. Very smooth palate and some light sweet notes in the finish. Very good and very drinkable. mrkimchee (1414), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
