Commercial Description:
A rich pale amber, this full bodied beer maintains an intensive level of hop flavor and aroma. Four different malts contribute to its smooth robust finish. A beer drinker's brew.

Had this on draught in Aurora, Illinois. Very good amber ale. Thin head, nose of malt and celery. Slightly hoppy finish although not too bitter at all. This was smooth and very drinkable, and for only $2/pint, it was a bargain! (8-4-8-3-16) Rerate, June 28 2005: Hoppy and quite bitter, very much paler than I appreciate my ambers to be, notes of apple cider, very alcoholy in the finish. Not great.

Shocked slightly by the pour, an amber that is actually amber, well light amber to golden in color anyway. Moderate slightly creamy, off egg shell colored head. Mild caramel and mild dried herbs and flower aromas. Fairly thin and slightly watery feel. Lightly toasted malt and dry herbal hops flavors. Has a stomach settling quality when it comes to the herbal thing. Linger reminds me of goldenrod and dry weeds on a warm fall day. I have had much worse amber.

Pours surprisingly light for an amber ale, a hazy golden with only a hint of amber in it. There is a very small white head that hangs around for a little while with a bit of lacing. Roasted malts dominate the nose with hints of hops and a very strong grain profile as well. The taste is also big on roasted malts and grain with the hops making an appearance in the finish. The mouthfeel is very dry and crisp with lots of carbonation. This is an interesting take on an amber ale and fairly enjoyable.

12oz bottle. Poured a medium golden color with a larger sized frothy white head. Lots of small suspended floaters. Aromas of toasted grains, light caramel, bready and a trace of citrus. Tastes of bread, lighter caramel, and citrus. Lacing left on the glass.

Draft at Brewery(4/25/08)-A slightly hazy golden body with an aroma of grain and cheap beer. Flavor of light malt and hops on this light to medium bodied brew. A nice tasting beer but mild for an amber.
