drowland (1360), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Aug 18, 2009 Tried this one out on tap while up judging the Drunk Monk Challenge but didn’t have time for good notes. Cornfield (4892), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA May 24, 2006 The body is deep brown, almost black, and one of the few beers that I’ve had at the brewpub that had little of any head. The aroma is dark, roasted barley, chocolate, dark fruits, and a bit of alcohol. The mouthfeel is nice and creamy, hot, and makes the lager enjoyable to roll around the mouth. The flavor is lightly sweet and hot with alcohol, the roasted barley and dark malts balancing it out. I liked the low alcohol burn in the finish. Not too shabby.
