Cornfield (4892), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA Feb 12, 2006 A deep brown body with a creamy light brown head that laced in sheets. Served way too cold, but I had time to let it warm for my breakfast digestif at the brewpub. This is a barley wine that leans heavily towards the thick, malty side, having a rich, sweet malt aroma. Very creamy. The flavor is a sticky sweet malt, lightly smokey, with a small dose of chocolate. The alcohol remains well hidden, even into the mild, earthy bitter finish. Sticky and warming.
