Courtesy of kiefdog. Pours deep dark with nice mocha head. The aroma is so inviting with rich roasty malts, sweet molasses, caramel and then running into barrel notes of smooth wood, vanilla and soft notes of bourbon. The taste starts off a bit thin but quickly runs into roast to burnt malts, molasses and a touch of caramel. Prior to midway wood and vanilla hitch up with soft bourbon notes and usher the experience toward closure. It thins out again into the finish. Pleasing harmony of flavors and fantastic aroma.

Bottle from NobelSquirrel. Thanks! Pours black with a nice brown head. Aroma is pretty strong bourbon...uh oh. Some chocolate and coffee as well. Flavor has the booze dominate up front but heavy sweet chocolate finish. Different and not bad. Full body and fairly dry as well.

12 oz bottle courtesy of Noblesquirrel. Pours an opaque ink black with a small tan head. The nose is big and bold with whiskey, ripe dark fruits and wood. The taste is vibrant with more dark fruits, leather, oak, whiskey and chocolate. The finish is medium in duration with lingering bourbon. The mouthfeel is just a touch thin. Overall: A very tasty IRS. Recommended quaff.

Bottled. Poured oily black with a deep brown head. The aroma picked up strong, sweet bourbon and vanilla upfront with roasty darker chocolate behind.. rich and aggressive with great use of the barrels. The flavor opened with sweet and tangy bourbon over sweeter chocolates and vanilla.. warm chocolatey middle was surrounded by coffee bitterness, bourbon, and warm spices.. long, tasty finish. Heavier-bodied on the palate with low carbonation.. strong, but well-balanced and decadent all the way.

bottle thanks to bu11zeye. pitch black pour with no head. great nose of vanilla, toffee and bourbon. wow that’s nice. the bourbon and the vanilla actually smooths the stout out quite well. the roasted malts don’t really kick in until the aftertaste with a touch of vanilla. very impressive bourbon stout.
