gws57 (995), Saint Charles, Illinois, USA Jun 29, 2005 Updated: Sep 9, 2006 Had this one on draught in Aurora, Illinois. Very -- almost too -- sweet, tastes of cream soda and vanilla, nose of chocolate. I could have one of these a night.
Rerated 9/9/06 -- Tastes like alcoholic Yoo-Hoo.
drewbeerme (1840), Chicago, Illinois, USA Aug 17, 2008 on tap at Americas. pours hazed golden with white head. smells like bakers chocolate and vanilla. tastes like white chocolate. very vanilly, not my thing at all. Headbanger (1001), Aurora, Illinois, USA Jul 7, 2008 Draft at brewery(4/25/08)-A clear golden body with an aroma of chocolate and vanilla. The taste of chocolate grows throughout the mouthful on this light bodied brew. Not bad but a little lacking and good tasting. hopscotch (4588), Vero Beach, Florida, USA May 11, 2008 Draft... DLD’08... Clear, pale yellow ale with a small, creamy, white head. Great retention. Interesting chocolate aroma (considering its appearance) with minerally hops as well. Light-bodied and watery with diminished carbonation. Well-balanced, but mostly boring and thin. The chocolate doesn’t really shine through in the flavor. Short, stale finish. Sledge Jr (2720), Omaha, Nebraska, USA Dec 27, 2007 Sampled at GABF 2007. Pours a dark brown sepia color with an off white medium sized head. Thin with very low carbonation. I get a mild artificial chocolate aroma. Flavor has a thin roasted coffee and chocolate taste, but it is definitely not rich on the chocolate side of things. Back to the factory for the Oompah Loompahs to learn how to make better beer! CaptainCougar (4664), Rockville, Maryland, USA Nov 18, 2007 On tap at the brewpub on 6/20/07: Pours a transparent golden bronze with a well-lacing spotty white head. Aroma has a nice milk chocolatey presence as the dominant character. Body starts slightly caramely sweet with a touch of toffee and more chocolate flavor toward a thinner toasty finish. An interesting and well-brewed, unique beer.
