Commercial Description:
Our lightest beer yet! This Bavarian light lager is hand crafted using only the finest 2-row summer barley and malted white winter wheat. With just a touch of Hallertau Hersbruck hops in the kettle, this lager is left with a crisp clean flavor. Half Court is a taste of Heaven.

Sampler @ brewpub, listed as a German Wheat. Barely a sticky lacing and a lightly hazy , very pale straw color. A light aroma of cereal, faint lemon and some bark. Taste has a bit more of a zing to the lemon aspect. Still strong on cereal. Its strongly carbonated. In general all the aspects are plain. There is a faint hint of diacetyl, not bad enough to interfere with the beer.

Not really what I would expect from a light beer, it is on the lighter side, but actually has some body to it. Still not a great beer, has that adjuncty nose, with a light bit of grassy hops. Flavor is nicely balanced, with some crisp acidity. I’ll admit I had more than one while playing the slots.

I am not going to knock this for having bad character, just gor having little character. The body was light yellow with a white head. The aroma had light grainy corn. The taste was light and grassy with corn. Smooth.

On tap at the brewpub, 2/20/06: Hazy light yellow with a thin but sticky veil. Lightly starchy aroma. Sweet corn or malty flavors, but nicely balanced with a citrus twist. Actually not too bad. First surprise here.

On tap at the brewpub. These gambling satans have a beautiful brewpub. You should check it out if you are ever in town. Just don’t gamble. This is pale yellow in color, but there’s nothing else light about this lager! Great lacing. Served way too cold for the goober nicotine addicts that frequent casinos, but that’s about all that is wrong with this fine helles-lager. Low in hops, sweet floral taste. Very flowery up front, but then the beer finishes somewhere else. Whoop- suddenly it’s gone from your mouth as though it were never there. Super crisp!

At the brewpub. This is the Miller Lite of the place. Shockingly very tasty. Clear, golden color with a decent aroma. Hoppier than a macro light beer, and much better. A lot better than I would have expected.

This is the beer that this brewpub at the Ameristar Casino offers for the mass market audience, and yet I found it surprisingly solid and well-composed. Typical (limited) range of aromas and flavors, but a decent beer.
