Jul 1, 2009 Tawny brown brew with light cream top. Easy roasted nutty malt aroma with some tannins to it. Likewise the flavor has a roasted nutty malt to it with some fruit skin tannins and a dry finish. Tasted side by side to Naked City’s Dubbel and this one was far the inferior.

Mar 30, 2008 On draft at the Amnesia pub, right after the Sleighjerker ale, and this was the more interesting offering, for sure. Seemed actually to be like a cross between a Dubbel and a Tripel. Was buttery and smooth. Poured beautifully in their tulip glass. Maybe I need to get a tulip glass of my own.

Mar 11, 2006 [2006 Lucky Labrador Barley Wine & Big Beer Festival]
4oz Taster - Dark, malty, yeasty strong ale. Has a very strong taste like a Trappist brew. Cloudy color, and a nice fruit flavor and a strong yeast presence. This beer could have had a bit more time in the keg. I really liked this brew.
