Commercial Description:
Mr. Jamie Mistry, Amsterdam Brewmaster, has brewed a beer with the perfect balance. Carefully combining the boldness of a pale ale with the smoothness of an easy drinking lager to create a Deluxe Amber Beer we call Big Wheel. Ingredients: Brewed with a blend of imported Pale and Crystal malts for a bright Amber colour and sweet malt character. Dry hopped with a blend of UK hops to achieve a perfect balance of rounded malt and hop taste. Taste Profile: A full bodied robust taste that is perfectly balanced. Not too bitter or heavy. Initial malt and hop aromas in the nose balanced by roasted male and caramel flavours. Not overpowering with a slightly crisp finish.

Can from brewery: Orange beer with creamy head. Caramel and herbal aroma. Taste is similar, some malt action but nothing spectacular. Light. Kinda boring actually.

A nice hoppy, malty amber ale. A great solid beer that was really satusfying, and refreshing. One of the better beers ive had from this brewery.

I tried this beer on October 30, 2009 on tap at "Smokeless Joe’s" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer was poured a translucent red with a huge foamy tan coloured head. The aroma was caramel malt with some grass. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour was grainy malt with a ’burnt’ sense to it. An alright beer,

473 ml can from brewery. Pours deep amber in colour, small white head, leaves minor lacing. Aroma is mildly hoppy, taste is nicely balalcen, starting slightly sweet, and finisheing with a moderate hop taste, but not too bitter. Very sessionable. Love the name and artwork.

Can- A clear but fairly deep copper pour, with a half inch of eggshell head. Nose of grains and caramel, fresh hops, a bit fruity too. Sweet grainy flavour is met with a marked grassy hoppiness, then leads to caramel which seems a bit too sweet at times. Not groundbreaking but I’d happily drink it if I had to. Thanks Dave!

[2475-20090829] Tap sample. Little corn whiskey grains and toasted bread crusts aroma. Clear, amber body with a quick foamy off-white head. Toasted bread crusts continue in the flavour that have been dipped in corn water. Medium body is smooth. Drinkable, more interesting to sip than smell.

2009-08-29. Crisp orange body with a modest beige head. ( 3+) Mild aroma, lightly fruity touches, modest malt. ( 6+) Flavour is similar, lightly floral fruity character, caramel touched malt. Average to light palate. Okay, bit disappointing as I had hoped for more. On tap at Beer Bistro
