Cask. At Volo Cask Days 2009. Clear copper with a small creamy off-white head. Vegetal aroma, dry, with slightly rotten fruit - not quite horrid, but not even remotely appealing. The taste is vaguely of citrus, but mostly weeds and paper. Unpleasantly thick mouthfeel, still and syrupy, with a harsh aftertaste. Oaked? really? how! - I call shenanigans.

On cask @ Volo cask days: Appearance: Red lemonade, no head. Aroma: Soapy, some smoke and pumpkin spices. Flavour: Smoky, a little bacon, salt, peat, spice and some pumpkin, the finish is very smoky.

[2574-20091031] Cask. Weird bandaid fruit aroma, not much. Clear, red orange body with no head. Oaky wood fruit flavour has some mild spices and vanilla throughout. Medium body is smooth. Interesting but a lot of wood vanilla notes.

Volo Cask Days 2009. Ok this one did not work at all. Im not sure what this was oaked in, but after tasting it i thought fr sure they had made a typo and it was supposed to be Smoked Oktoberfest not Oaked. This was loaded with smoky, bacon, and sausage notes. No oak, or anything resembling an oktoberfest to be found.

Had at Volo cask days 2009. Too much woodiness, in the scent, in the taste, and astringency from an intrinsic sourness, and from the smoke. Did not turn out right. Woodiness and even the smoke is too much, and kind of bamboo.Mouthfeel other than that is of mid-consistency. Low drinkability.

2009-10-31. Crisp dark orange body with a small frothy beige head. 3+ Aroma is modestly oaky, kiss of smokiness, light fruity character. Flavour is similar, more fruity than the nose, oak is lighter here than expected and smoke hints are less prominent as well. Mild malt throughout. Smooth average palate. Very light carbonation. Decent, this one surprised me with the delicacy of the oak in the flavour. Cask at Volo Cask Days 2009
