Near black. Light chocolatey, peanutty aroma. Toasty, lightly chocolatey character, a little meaty/smokey. Thick and sweet but neither rich nor cloying. Not the most imperial of stouts, nor the most focused, it’s still worth a pint. Indiana_Red (1470), Boise, Idaho, USA Nov 21, 2005 On Tap at Rockfish
Black with tan thin head and lacing. Sweet dark roasted aroma. Flavor was dark chocolatem charcoal and easy on the hops. Expected and hoped for a heavier feel but quite tasty I thought.
MrDick (269), San Francisco, California, USA Dec 5, 2003 Rockfish doesn't always have this on tap, so it was a pleasure to find it being served when I showed up one afternoon. This imperial stout poured black like my soul. Couldn't even see any light filtering through the motor oil. Creamy head that had to settle a bit. Very smooth taste - reminiscent of what a pre-pubescent dogfish head stout would be before it turns into liquid salvation. Flavors of coffee, slight plum and date and chocolate. Slight bitterness. Very tasty - hides the high ABV.
