bitbucket (1541), Kirkland, Washington, USA Feb 24, 2008 Despite the five year gap in ratings, maybe this one needs to be un-retired? Pours warm coppery brown with an off-white ring of foam. Lightly buttery and spicy sweet aroma. Medium body, nearly still. Caramel taste, with a woody dry finish. herbstress3 (221), Bellingham, Washington, USA Feb 2, 2003 I'm actually surprised to see this is a lager since it was proclaimed to be an ale when I ordered it. Very sweet and frutiy taste and pretty dark and thick for a lager. Overall not a bad beer, easy to drink. drismyhero (815), Tacoma, Washington, USA Jan 28, 2003 Well, this is my 300th rating, and not a beer worthy of the title I'm afraid. The Anacortes site claims this is a lager, but it tasted more like an ale for sure. Very thin caramel malt with just a touch of hops, giving it a slightly metallic mouthfeel. Very bland, very watery, and a very average beer that I'm not very anxious to try again.
