Pours a nice dark brown color with a small off white head. Roasty nose with some coffee and chocolate notes, the hops add a nice bitterness on the palate, this is not a bad porter, I am more impressed with it the more I drink it.

Dark brown colored brew. Coffee, chocolate aroma. Roasted malty chocolate, coffee flavor. Some bitterness.

Aug 1, 2008 On tap at Porterhouse in Mt. Vernon, WA--Poured a deep brown-black body with a small round white head. Mildly roasted with coffee notes and some spicy hops. A quietly delicious beer.

Feb 23, 2008 On tap at the brewpub. Pours translucent blackish brown with a lacy tan head. Pine and chocolate aroma. Medium body and carbonation. Roasty malt and chocolate flavor. Coffee finish with a soft pine influence.

Feb 16, 2008 muted burnt grain aroma, dark brown approaches black. amazing toasted black grain flavor with dark chocolate dust. weighted on the tongue like a good porter should be.
