| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 5, 2007 Deep red-brown body, thin, tight light tan head. Aroma of heavy caramels, toast, and chocolate. Dense, bready, caramely body, with chocolate and vinous dark grape notes. Leafy hops complement the heavy malts. Long, dry, somewhat bitter finish. A rich, hearty, well-made bock. mfaulke (81), clemson, South Carolina, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 5, 2007 Updated: May 6, 2007I was a little hard on this beer when I rated it last night. I made the mistake of having it after a barleywine so it tasted like flat coke to me at the time. After having another one today I will improve my rating a bit. The malt flavor comes through really well and it finishes smoothly. It still didn’t bowl me over but was much better than before. doublebock (197), USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 30, 2007 Ruby red color, thin but frothy foam. Bready aroma. Smooth flat malty taste followed by nutty hopiness. Solidy hoppy pine like bite at the end. mctous (119), Herndon, Virginia, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 29, 2007 The aroma contains a peculiar acetic sourness along with the roasted malt. The pour and texture resemble Anchor Steam, with medium body, clear ruby color, and light but firm carbonation. Roasted malt dominates the flavor, with the sourness and hops as background. Only the sourness lingers in the palate, which is quite smooth. Lumpy (1802), Carrollton, Texas, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 15/20 | Apr 28, 2007 Dr. Pepper body with a lasting ˝ inch head. Nose-wood, dried cherries, lightly bready. Taste-bitter, grape, sawdust, light husk, flat cola, medium bitter on the back end, acorns, pecan, nutty, very little alcohol, high prickly CO2. Lots of nutshell, cola, not overly sweet, sticky, or biter. Nice very solid. Lingering bitterness costs it palate points. dj (422), Gloucestershire, England

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Apr 25, 2007 Dark brown color. Smells of light toaste cocoa and tobacco, a little grainy in the nose as well. Thin and a bit fizzy on the tongue, a little light cream flavor in with some bark and some old grains. This one is certainly forgettable.
