The aroma is sweet with primary notes of herbs, but also a light touch of caramel. The flavor is sweet with a nice roastyness to it, but also a herbal note. I’m not that fond of the herbal notes - I wonder if it is the hops? Papsoe (15109), Frederiksberg, Denmark

Aroma of hard roasted malt. Medium-bodied with very dry, hard roasted malts - vaguely burned actually. Also some accents of good aroma hops. A pleasant albeit rather unusual Bock. 110606 yespr (12427), Copenhagen O, Denmark
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Mar 3, 2009 12 fl oz bottle. Pours dark borwn and hazy with a small tan head. Sweet yet roasted malt and ense pinewood hoppy aroma. Light acidic, overripe fruity and somewhat wooden in initial flavour. Somewhat wineous and dense malty in base flavour. Lasting malty and wineous impression into the finish. omhper (12299), Stockholm, Sweden
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 1/5 | 13/20 | Feb 17, 2006 Bottled. Near black, minimal head. The aroma holds coffee, lactic acid and berries. Surprisingly light bodied with hard crystal malt character. Notes of papery malt and chocolate. Fairly low bitterness. There’s lots of good stuff in here, but a bock needs a big, soft maltiness - not hard, sharp crystal malt. fonefan (11890), VestJylland, Denmark

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 7, 2007 Bottled (thanks omhper!). Dark brown colour, small brown head. Aroma is almost wineous dark fruit, caramel, toffee, raisins and slight roast. Flavour is raisins, dark fruit, alcohol, caramel and a bit acidic fruits. Some roasted hints in finish and aftertaste, along with quite crispy hops. Quite full palate compared to many other beers at the same ABV level. joergen (8638), Frederiksberg, Denmark
