| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 6, 2009 Bottle into pint glass. A great copper pour with just a slight amount of haze and a big fluffy off-white head that holds its own pretty well. The aroma is OUTSTANDING and far better than I expected from this or any other American Pale - sweet malt, subtle hops, bubblegum, cotton candy. The flavor is good, but less startlingly amazing. Strats off with a strange bitterness - not like hop bitterness, but a weird acidic bitterness. Maybe it is weird oxidation. Anyways, this is followed by an old Belgian Candi flavor. Finish is amber and pale malt. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Leaves the mouth a bit dry. Overall: this thing could be a real winner if it weren’t for the strange flavor. I am nearly certain it has to be oxidation or something off. Still not bad though. I want to try this fresh on tap at the brewhouse to do it justice. Joakgust (338), Stockholm, Sweden

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 27, 2009 A very nice ale, I would describe it quite basically as a great example of an American Ale hopped like an IPA. nickd717 (1394), Palo Alto, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 26, 2009 Tap at the brewery. Mostly clear golden-orange color with a white head. Nice piney hop aroma balanced by sweet caramel malt and some grains. Flavor is somewhat sweet pale and caramel malts and fresh piney/citrusy Cascade hops (was dry-hopped according to the person serving it). Palate medium with medium-high carbonation. A really nice APA. I feel like this is a beer that is much better fresh than even after a couple months. fidelis83 (729), Clinton, Iowa, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 12, 2009 Pours slightly hazy pale orange (cirrhosis’ "clean motor oil" is both funny and really accurate, I have seen lots of "used/old motor oil" descriptors, never clean though) with a tall off white, chunky head that has great retention. Aroma is caramel, grainy malt, a little toasted grain, floral and citrus hops, honey comb (not the cereal), some tea and planty hop qualities and some mineral notes. Flavor is grainy malt right away with some lime and mineral water, a touch of light caramel, cereal, herbal hops and lime/citrus in the middle. Finish comes around with straw, grapefruit, tea, and herbal notes. Palate is thin to medium body with a neutral to dry entry and slightly drier finish, carbonation level is almost perfect, just a hair sharp though. This is a really nice APA, a little too herbal and grainy for its own good, but it really tastes oddly wholesome, like you are drinking something that tastes good but might be good for you. Fruity/citrus hop aroma.
Fresh, light body, fizzy.
Hop evident but not overwhelming.
Fresh and somewhat (a little too) bitter. Could be a one-beer in the summer.
