Orange, hops, and a little metallic bite on the nose. Nice hop bitterness and great lingering flavor. This beer just screams freshness to me, which is why I like it so much. Probably also some sense memory in that it was the first beer that took me beyond the big guys (Sam Adam’s, Pete’s Wicked) when I first started drinking beer 10 years ago. This was the one that made me really start paying attention. Great beer. Pyrozoid (352), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada

Aromas of orange and lemon zest, celery salt, pepper, nicely hopped and smells fresh. Grainy, medium body, slightly overcarbonated. Flavors are peppery, orange zest, spruce... Not to bad overall... ditmier (1116), Boise, Idaho, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 23, 2008 Hazy orange, compact head, some retention. Aroma of caramel, citrus and pine. The malt sugars are quickly replaced by a honest bitterness (citrus and green olive pits) and it finishes fairly dry. The finale has good length. Nevertheless, the finish could be more precise. Medium to round bod. I have to precise I feel my sample is not so young, yet a good appetizer. Ljunkan (399), Karlstad, Sweden

Always available and pretty cheap. Toffee, tropical fruits, very good bitterness with grapefruit/citrus from the classic Cascade hops. Refreshing and very good. Davin (48), Vermont, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 21, 2008 This beer really has it’s own character. The hop bitterness blends well with the caramel flavors. I would agree that this is a Pale Ale and not an IPA because the malt and hops are competing for flavor and it is a draw. Competition is great for the consumer as they say.
