| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 30, 2009 Looks a treat but is a bit one dimensional in the mouth, particularly for the high ABV. The liberty hops are well balanced with the malt and it’s easy drinking, just not the most exciting beer in the world. joeneugs (371), Livermore, California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 27, 2009 Pours pale yellow with a huge creamy off white head. The aroma is hoppy with caramel and orange. A little pine, some banana and plum. The flavor is mild with fruits and some strong earthy hops in the finish. Biscuity at the end. Very light bodied. I love this APA. jnelson_22 (21), Spaldwick, Cambridgeshire, England
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 25, 2009 Snagged a big bottle of this while I was back home in Texas. It pours a golden/copper color with a nicely forming, big, lingering head. Big grapefruit/citrus hop notes in the aroma with a hint of malt balancing it out. There is a big, bold hoppy bite in the mouth, though balanced by some light maltiness and finishing with piney hops. Pretty hoppy compared to the British pale ales i’ve tasted, but then I remember that this is an American brew... a rather iconic one at that! HonkeyBra (1381), Lemont, Illinois, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 21, 2009 Yellowish pour with white head. Light, spicey hop aroma. Flavor is kind of tangy hops. Nice mouthfeel. Certainly a good session ale. But, i feel like there might be an age issue with the bottle. Anchor probably needs to figure out how to get all these old six packs out of the market. . . jimmythechippy (43), , Australia
