Tastes fair- dry, some hops but nearly as many as I expected. This isn’t a great pale ale. This is the second Anchor beer I’ve had that’s disappointed me, I doubt I’ll be trying any more of their brews.

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 27, 2009 Pours pale yellow with a huge creamy off white head. The aroma is hoppy with caramel and orange. A little pine, some banana and plum. The flavor is mild with fruits and some strong earthy hops in the finish. Biscuity at the end. Very light bodied. I love this APA. jnelson_22 (18), Spaldwick, Cambridgeshire, England
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 25, 2009 Snagged a big bottle of this while I was back home in Texas. It pours a golden/copper color with a nicely forming, big, lingering head. Big grapefruit/citrus hop notes in the aroma with a hint of malt balancing it out. There is a big, bold hoppy bite in the mouth, though balanced by some light maltiness and finishing with piney hops. Pretty hoppy compared to the British pale ales i’ve tasted, but then I remember that this is an American brew... a rather iconic one at that! HonkeyBra (1373), Lemont, Illinois, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 21, 2009 Yellowish pour with white head. Light, spicey hop aroma. Flavor is kind of tangy hops. Nice mouthfeel. Certainly a good session ale. But, i feel like there might be an age issue with the bottle. Anchor probably needs to figure out how to get all these old six packs out of the market. . . jimmythechippy (43), , Australia

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 17, 2009 12-oz bottle. Citrus aroma, but something else, maybe a little like wet bark. Bright light golden. A substantial head that dissipates slowly. Plenty of lacing. Very lightly sweet. Moderate bitterness, then more bitterness as the beer settles in your mouth. A touch sour, too. Very pleasant on the palate. Light bodied, but creamy. Nothing strange here. Typical in a good way. Very drinkable, too. For the cost, a very nice sessionable ale.
