Had to be reminded of how I felt about this one since I dont remember drinking it. Based my review upon Honkeybras, and I assume I said it had lots of awesomeness and turned out sexy. gpekar (228), Maryland, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 12, 2009 Poured a clear orange/copper color with a thin off white head that disappeared quickly to just a film. There was a good strong sweet aroma with a hint of orange. There was a silky, thick texture with a bold alcohol feel initially. A creamy sweetness of caramel, molasses and raisins developed followed by a mild bitterness towards the finish with the alcohol to counter balance the sweetness. A good warmth on the finish from the alcohol.
Good winter warmer!!! tarheels86 (795), Washington DC, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 10, 2009 330 mL into snifter. Pours a deep ruby with a very thin almost nonexistent yellow head. Aromas of raisins, red licorice, candy, caramel malt, dark fruits. Taste is not too powerful. Nice and mellow with caramel malt, rum raisin, spicy hops. Not intensely bitter like some barleywines- very sweet dessert beer. Nice, dry finish. haggis03a3 (138), Piedmont, California, USA

Aroma is caramel, hops, sweet. Flavor is sweet caramel, citrus, hops, alcohol and some bitterness on the finish. HonkeyBra (1355), Lemont, Illinois, USA

Aroma of a sexy girl, perfume, fruit, candy. Flavor is sweet and hoppy. Spicy, candy, a bit like wine. I understand why this brought back the barley wine style. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 9, 2009 On tap at Stone. Dark amber in color with very little head. No lace. No nose at all. Seriously: nothing. Big spicy fruit flavor. Candy. Grapes. Starts smooth, and moves to creamy. No bitter flavor at all. Yummy. plovmand (1726), Helsinge, Denmark
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 1, 2009 Bottle. Hazy copper body with a small creamy head. Very malty aroma with lots of caramel and some spices. Flavour is very malty with a good balanced hop addition. Creamy body. Long malty aftertaste. emerica56 (583), Bristol, Rhode Island, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 31, 2008 Pours a cloudy amber with a thin head that fades rather quick. The nose is nice and floral with caramel pepper spice. As you sip on it the hop bitterness bites your palate and the booze is not well masked in this particular brew. It has a nice tingle with just the right amount of carbonation. Overall it is a great brew with a good balance of flavor and carbonation.
