Intensely malty with dried and plummy fruits hints of liquoricey and almost spicey alcohol. Sweet and a bit syrupy, I’m quite glad the bottle was small as I wouldnt have wanted to drink anymore. An interesting aroma that I can’t quite put my finger on. Thin body, raisins & dates with a slight sour finish. No lace. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 9, 2007 Had this on tap at the best bar in Norman, Oklahoma...The Library. Definitely a great place to enjoy any number of delicious beers on tap while enjoying the atmosphere on the patio. Anyway, on to Old Foghorn. Pours a cloudy redish brown, lite head into a snifter. Sweet caramel malt with a slight nutmeg/nutty spice on the nose. Flavor on the front is slightly sweet caramel malt mixed with some spice/fruityness....followed on the back with some hopiness and a slightly roasted finish. Alcohol is pretty well hidden. Very smooth mouthfeel...great beer warmth. This is a great beer to get on tap and drink at around 65 degrees. oteyj (821), Canterbury, New Hampshire, USA
