| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 28, 2007 Stubby bottle. This pours a muddy, ruddy brown with a reddish titl and barely a sparkle of a fizzy head. The aroma is sweet and fruity, with much less of a cooked essence than I’d expect from a barleywine. As I start to sip, I get a bit more of a steeped sugar sense, this coming off like a roasted apples. As it warms the alcohol also starts to making more of its warming presence known. A moderate but quite drinkable strong ale. (#3067, 8/28/2007) Carl99Fan (186), Suwanee, Georgia, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 27, 2007 I was expecting more from this beer. Warm mouthfeel...dark fruits and sweet toffee. Wonderful initial flavor, then disappointingly moves towards alcohol tinged finish. mcbackus (750), Merritt Island, Florida, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 23, 2007 (Tap) Pours a deep mahogany color with a sparkling appearance and little head. Aroma of dark fruits and brown sugar. Malty, with a nice caramel and toffee backbone. Sticky and sweet, with a decent amount of alcohol warming as well. A decent barleywine, but a little too sweet for my tastes.
