On-tap. Bishops Arms Järntorget. Gothenburg. Amber/brown colour with an off-white head. Aroma: Sweet malt, fruit, lighter american hops, spices and alcohol. Taste: Sweet and fruity, with a backbone of american hops, also some alcohol. One of the more malty american barley wines I have tried. Nice.

Great barley wine. Pours dark amber with medium tan head. Aromas of orange and red fruit. Tastes of roasted raspberries and malts while slightly spicy. Smooth finish and a very approachable barley wine.

Draft at Bishops Arms - Clear amber beer with a small head. Aroma is sweet with notes of oranges, fruits, spices and black currant. Flavor is very sweet with hints of overripe fruit and spices. Very full-bodied and sweet but not very bitter compared to most American Barley Wines. Very good!

Bright red, lightly frothy ale. Very bright malty aromas. Strawberry/raspberry tartness followed by a thick honey sweetness. Very rich, with a real hoppy dryness that makes the mouth clench up. Pink/red fruit flavours. The finish is very, very long and quite intense. Heavy fruits and brandy booziness. Sort of like a light Christmas pudding. Pretty tasty, it would probably rock my world in winter.

On tap@Sorbon. Ap: Dark red-orange. Thick white head. Ar: Buttery. Sponge cake. Fla:Fruity (banana, citrus). Big body. Smooth. Hoppy, but not like an american monster bw. Not very complex.

Have had new bottles and old one, recently a nip, not sure of the year. Aroma is nice and sweet, semi fruity and a a little rich. Nice body. Taste is smooth and mostly sweet with a little bitterness balancing it out even the aged ones. For a large quantity barleywine I think it is very good.

bottle. Pours cloudy brown with a thin tan head which dissipated. Nose of banana, plum, brown sugar, raisins and caramel malt. Taste is raisins and brown sugar. Mouthfeel is medium with a little syrupy feel. Not bad.
