I think the part that impressed me most was that when I came back from ordering my girlfriend had the guys just in front of me at the bar singing to her in German for having saved their table. That and the fact that this had a lot of oakiness and all the whatnot you would ever shake a stick at. What is RWD? bitter (1137), Henderson, Nevada, USA

| 4.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Feb 6, 2004 Pouring with an interesting, spicey aroma,my 2003 OSA was a very dark mahogany-hued ale with little head. The seasoning pine on the label was marked as Pinea Sitchensis(Sitchen's Pine). The flavor of this brew is very complex and hearty, with a multitude of spice undertones. I like this beer! mkobes (2104), paramus, New Jersey, USA

It was a aged bottle, and really sweet tasting. Lots of spices. Bitter in the finish. Pretty good. ruffian (149), montvale, New Jersey, USA

Otherwise the classic flavors and aromas are still in there. It was impressive that the flavors were still there, but the oxidation destroyed it. Cinimon and spice in the aroma as well. Smooth and spicy malty flavor. Not something I'd like to drink regularly, but interesting none the less. brewbear (48), 3096 Oberbalm, Switzerland

Out of all 7 from magnums, I preferred the '98 version best. All flavors were represented. Allspice, light coriander, nutmeg, orange peel and predominatly the ever-present dried fruit, mostly prune flavor. This stuff held up better than I had expected.
